Is It Wrong To Dream Big?
Dreaming big is not wrong as long as our hearts belong to God, and our intentions are pure and unselfish. There are several proofs from the bible that shows us that God encourages us to achieve our dreams.
We’ve been given the capacity to dream and, more importantly, to dream with God.
We are to dream big so we can achieve more things. However, our dreams should not include selfish goals but Christian goals, otherwise our goals will not be in line with what God wants, and we will not be blessed.
To achieve this, we have to look at the source or our problem. Maybe our intentions are not pure and are selfish, that’s why we are not at peace with what we’re doing. Maybe we are too focused our own feelings like when we get hurt, that we lose focus on what we are supposed to do. We have to recognize the fact that we are helpless without God and so we have to ask for His help. We must turn to God and believe that God will take care of us.
Once we have assured that our intentions are pure, we should trust that the Lord will back us up no matter what. With this in mind, we shouldn’t be afraid of anything, and believe that God is with you in all your plans. Be confident.
In order to solve the problem you have to think of solutions to solve it. Faith alone will not do anything. Faith without action is nothing. You have to prove that you have faith in God by going out of your comfort zone even in unfamiliar ways just to achieve your goals.
Matthew 11:28-30 states:
‘Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.’
We are reminded that we shouldn’t take things into our own hands, for God did not design us this way. We are supposed to turn to Him for help. When we ask for help, it means we surrender all our problems to Him, trust Him, and just concentrate on our tasks. That way there will be no distractions.
Genesis 37:1-11 Joseph’s Dream proves that God wants us to dream big and not think small of ourselves.
Ephesians 3:20-21 God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or dream, according to His power that works in us. The secret is to recognize our dependence on Him and know that all we have to do is ask help from Him. Pride is something that stops us from doing this.
Jeremiah 29:11 God has plans for everybody and each one is unique. His plans are good and not to harm you or cause you to sin.
Proverbs 13:12 Hopelessness makes the heart sick, but where dreams come true, there is life and joy. We are encouraged to pursue our dreams.
Isaiah 54:2-3 God wants us to achieve our dreams so that when we achieve them we may bless others with them. When God blesses us in our plans, we become capable of blessing others as well. Example is generating jobs for people who need money, alms for the poor, money to start foundations to help the poor.
Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. As long as our desires are in line with the Lord’s wishes, He will bless us. If we dream for the wrong things and pursue them, we will not be blessed.
Daniel 11:32 Those who have strong faith in God and claim to know God should trust that the Lord will help them no matter what, so there should be no sense of fear of anything along the way.
Matthew 5:17 We are called to shed God’s light to others. The passage teaches us that it’s useless to know the truth about God and not live it. We should show others through our actions of faith that God is the answer to everything, and there is no other being that we should need. With our big dreams, we can show the world how God can bless them through others, so that they may do the same.
May God bless you all in turning your dreams into realities!!!
