Reflections From The Bible And Life

Pail On The Ledge

Acts 18:23-28; Psalm 47:2-3, 8-10; John 16:23-28

I have heard of people running out of water and it takes 24 hours for their tanks to fill up. It was frustrating for them not to be able to get water from outside since it was raining hard. So they started getting their pales out on the ledge, and pretty soon, they had pails overflowing with water.

The story of the water also happens in our faith walk. We tend to panic when we are in distress, but God’s perspective is different. While we are in distress mode, God is in miracle mode. The Lord just wants us to work hard and have expectant faith. During our time of need, the Lord wants us to seek Him for help and trust in His provisions. If we put our needs before Him, He will fill them up to overflowing. Such is the Lord.
