Everyone Who Believes in Him Might Not Perish…
Acts 5:17-26; Psalm 34:2-9; John 3:16-21;
Blessed are the ones who come to the light it so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God, rather than those who hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed. There are many of us who believe in the salvation of Jesus, and yet there are times when we end up doing things that are favorable to us but not Him, due to selfish and evil reasons.
From the reading, I am reminded to be bold enough to carry on the tasks and missions that Christ has left for us to follow. No matter how difficult the situation is, as long as we have faith and continue to do good and be a light to others, God will never let us down.
Take the example of the apostles who were brought to jail for preaching about Christ. The following day, they were free again, preaching to people in the temple. Nobody knew how they were able to get out of prison under tight watch by the guards. As long as we follow His ways, there is nothing impossible that we cannot accomplish. God will always be on our side.
Several years ago, I had a friend whose mother was dying. The charity wards were not accepting her, so my friend had to use the pay ward. His mother had policies under her name, and she was not able to transfer to my friend’s name. By some miracle, a mistake was made by the hospital personnel that my friend’s mother became my friend’s dependent, and my friend was able to avail of the Philhealth benefits. My friend’s mom healed quite fast!
The next problem was paying the fee for discharge, otherwise his mom won’t be allowed to go home. The doctors who treated her end up giving a huge discount that my friend was able to pay for the fee.
My friend’s mother remains alive as of this day! Truly the Lord loves us and will never allow anything wrong to happen to us as long as with strong faith in God, we live our life according to how He wants us to live it and not according to how we want to live it .
