Reflections From The Bible And Life

God Is Always At Work

Isaiah 49:8-15; Psalm 145:8-9; 13-14, 17-18; John 5:17-30;

It feels great for one to be able to help someone in need or in trouble, especially after a season of spiritual dryness. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we do this constantly out of love for others? Jesus was misjudged by Jews who was seen performing miracles on Sabbath Day, as they followed Moses‘s old law about the Sabbath Day, which was a day of rest. From the new testament the updated meaning of Sabbath as taken from Isaiah 58:13,14 states:

“If you turn back your foot from the sabbath,
[from] doing your own pleasure on my holy day,
and call the sabbath a delight,
the holy [day] of Jehovah,
honourable; and you honour him,
not doing your own things, nor finding your own pleasure,
nor speaking [idle] words;
then you will delight yourself in Jehovah,
and I will cause you to ride on the high places of the earth,
and feed you with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken.”

If our father in Heaven never slept or rested in watching over us after He created us, and neither did Jesus, and why should we stop helping each other? The Lord takes care of us 24-7-365.
