Reflections From The Bible And Life

Be Good Examples

Leviticus 19:1-2, 11-18; Psalm 19:8-10, 14; Matthew 25:31-46;

There are lots of times when we encounter people doing things not favorable to us nor to God, and we feel like the urge to tell the person off. Many times, we ended up being more arrogant and rude to the person than the person who we were trying to teach a lesson to. We end up being vindictive.  While it’s good that we know what is right and what is wrong, it does not give us a right to throw our weight on anybody and label people.

We can still show other people the goodness of Christ by being gentle and explaining things in a reasonable and calm way. Humility is very important, otherwise we are not helping in any way. Do not replace sin with sin.   Leviticus 19:17 states “Though you may have to reprove your fellow man, do not incur sin because of him.”

It’s important that we pray for a humble heart, and a heart to serve God, rather than lead God’s people.
