Ask And You Shall Receive
Psalm 138:1-3, 7-8; Matthew 7:7-12
A lot of times when I traveled, especially in non-English speaking countries, when I ask for help such as directions or paying in dollars, the people who I approach use sign gestures to tell me they cannot help me or they will not accept U.S. dollars. Even in my own country, with friends, when we ask for help, our friends simply say they will see, and end up forgetting about it. If they do, there are usually conditions to be met. This is not the case with the Lord. With Him, we can speak any language, and we can ask for any kind of help, as long as it is something good for us. The Lord will always be willing to help us no matter what, without any conditions as long as we stay faithful to Him.
Matthew 7:7 states: “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.” Think of God’s help as a 24-hour free roadside assistance and repair service for us as we journey into life.
