It’s Your Choice
Deuteronomy 30:15-20; Psalms 1:1-4, 6; Luke 9:22-25
The Lord loves us so much that He gave us free will to decide on our own. However from Jesus time, God made it very clear that we have two paths, which are the way of the Lord, and the crooked path which leads to destruction.
We oftentimes cannot tell which is which in our lives. An example would be a mother who would be overly protective of her child even when she knows he has killed someone, or other situations quite similar to that. Some are achievements in this world, shadowed by unrighteous means. We may justify these actions, but does God justify them? We should look into our actions or even before we act on them before we make further mistakes. One path leads to our souls’ destruction and the other one to inner peace and bliss. It is harder for us to make a stand for what is right especially when our family is involved or anything like that. But we have to do the right things, for the love of our family and ourselves. We might not be rewarded here, but we will be rewarded in Heaven.
Quoting what Jesus said through Luke 9:23-34: ‘If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will save it. What does it profit them if they gain the whole world, but lose or forfeit themselves?
